Rudolf Küstermeier was a German resistance fighter against National Socialism and a journalist. Born on February 9, 1903, in Bielefeld, he was one of the founders of the resistance group Roter Stoßtrupp in 1933. After being liberated from the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in 1945, he became the first editor-in-chief of the newspaper Die Welt in 1946. In 1957, he served as the first German correspondent in Israel for the German Press Agency (DPA). He passed away on December 4, 1977, in Tel Aviv.
