Rumer Godden (10 December 1907 – 8 November 1998) was an English novelist who wrote over 60 literary and non-literary works, publishing under the name Rumer Godden. Nine of her works were adapted into films, the most notable being 'Black Narcissus' in 1947. Some of her works were co-authored with her older sister, novelist John Godden, including 'Two Under the Indian Sun,' which reminisces about Godden's childhood in an area now part of Bangladesh.
