Ryland Davies was a Welsh tenor, born on February 9, 1943, in Cwm, Glyn Ebwy. He studied at the Royal Manchester College of Music and made his professional debut in 1964 at the Glyndebourne Festival, performing the role of Almaviva in The Barber of Seville. He won the John Christie Award in 1965. Davies married opera singer Anne Howells in 1966, and after their divorce, he married soprano Deborah Rees. He passed away on November 5, 2023.
