S. S. Ganesapillai (June 28, 1937 - August 30, 1995) was a radio and stage drama actor and playwright from Sri Lanka. Born in Varanian, he adopted the pseudonym 'Varaniyuran.' He had a career spanning over three generations in radio comedy dramas, writing, directing, and acting in numerous stage and television dramas. He also ran an advertising company called 'Abhirami,' producing various radio advertisements. Notable works include 'Pulugar Ponnaiya' and 'Irithadum Paravaigal,' the latter was later published as a book. He continued his theatrical work while working in the Colombo Department of Divine Service.
