Sabah Qabbani (June 5, 1928 - January 1, 2015) was a contemporary Syrian diplomat, writer, and media figure, born into a Damascene family and the younger brother of poet Nizar Qabbani. He served as Syria's ambassador to the United States in 1974 and was previously the Minister Plenipotentiary in Jakarta. Qabbani was a key figure in establishing Syrian television and is noted for announcing the start of Syrian radio broadcasts. After leaving the diplomatic service in 1984, he focused on writing, photography, and cartooning, holding several exhibitions including 'Chorus of the Earth' and 'Indonesian Moments.'
