Sachchidananda Vatsyayan, also known by his pen name Agyeya, was an influential Indian poet, novelist, and journalist who pioneered modernist trends in Indian poetry, fiction, criticism, and journalism. He was a prominent advocate for Nayi Kavita (new poetry) and Prayog (experimentation) in contemporary Indian literature. Vatsyayan contributed to the editing of the literary series 'Sabtaksh' and founded the weekly magazine 'Dinamani'. He also translated some of his own works and those of other Indian authors into English, as well as translating numerous global literary works into Hindi.
