Saday Budaqlı is an Azerbaijani writer and translator born on November 13, 1955, in Qazakh. He served as the secretary of the Qazakh branch of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union from 1989 to 1993, and as the chief editor at the Azerbaijan State Radio from 1993 to 2009. Over his career, he received several awards including the Maksim Gorky International Prize and distinctions from the journals 'Nedelya' and 'Drujba Narodov'. In 2009, he was awarded the 'Golden Word' prize by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture.
