Sadi Tuma Abbas al-Jubouri was an Iraqi military and political figure born in Najaf in 1939. He graduated from the Iraqi Military College in 1960 and earned a master's degree from the Iraqi Staff College in 1970. Abbas held various ministerial positions during Saddam Hussein's regime, including Minister of Defense from December 12, 1990, to April 6, 1991, and Minister of Labor and Social Affairs until his retirement in June 2002. He was captured by U.S. forces in May 2003 and later sentenced to 15 years for his involvement in the suppression of the 1991 uprising. He died in prison on June 23, 2020.
