He is a Catholic priest within the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate Congregation and specializes in Kantian philosophy. Holding a PhD from the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas in Rome, Chackalackal has authored numerous books and contributed to the Journal of Dharma. He has developed course materials for Indira Gandhi National Open University and has served as the Provincial of CMI Preshitha Province in Coimbatore.
