Saleem Raza, born Noel Dias on March 4, 1932, was a notable Pakistani playback singer known for his melancholic songs. He began his music career in Lahore after converting to Islam and quickly gained fame, particularly as a classically-trained vocalist. Raza's popularity waned with the emergence of Ahmed Rushdi in the late 1950s, leading to his eventual retirement from playback singing in 1966. Following a decline in his career, he emigrated to Canada where he passed away on November 25, 1983.
