Salman Hadi al-Tou'ma, born on February 16, 1935, is an Iraqi poet and historian. He was born in Karbala into a Shia Muslim family and was raised by his father. He completed his elementary teachers' certificate in 1959, followed by a bachelor's degree from the College of Education at the University of Baghdad in 1971, and a master's degree from an Islamic university in Lebanon. al-Tou'ma is known for his literary work and numerous historical writings, particularly focusing on the local history of his birthplace.
