Salvador Alanís Duque was a notable Mexican athlete born on November 9, 1912, who made significant contributions to the field of athletics. He was the first Mexican to participate in the men's triple jump at the 1932 Summer Olympics. In addition to his Olympic appearance, Alanís won a bronze medal in the triple jump at the 1935 Central American and Caribbean Games and a silver medal in men's volleyball at the 1938 Games. He also held important roles in athletic governance during the 1968 Olympics and the 1974 Central American and Caribbean Games.
