Samar Mubarakmand is a prominent Pakistani nuclear physicist, born on September 17, 1942. He is known for his research in gamma-ray spectroscopy and experimental development of linear accelerators. He gained public attention as the director of the teams responsible for conducting Pakistan's first nuclear tests in the Ras Koh Hills of Balochistan. Prior to this, he led the missile research and development program in Pakistan, overseeing the Shaheen-I ballistic missile and Babur cruise missiles. He was also the founding president of the National Engineering and Science Commission (NESSCOM) from 2001 to 2007.
