Sameh Shoukry is an Egyptian diplomat who was appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs by Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab in the first government following the presidency of Abdel Fattah el-Sisi after the events of June 30. He previously served as Egypt's ambassador to the United States from September 24, 2008, until 2012. Shoukry holds a degree in law from Ain Shams University and is married with two children.
