Samir Ranjan Barman is an Indian politician who served as the Chief Minister of Tripura from February 19, 1992, to March 10, 1993, as a member of the Indian National Congress. He is the current MLA from the Agartala constituency and the father of Sudip Roy Barman, a leader in the Bharatiya Janata Party. Barman participated in assembly elections from the Bishalgarh constituency from 1972 to 2013, winning in 1972, 1988, 1993, 1998, and 2003. He was the Leader of the Opposition in the Tripura Legislative Assembly from 1993 to 1998 and is a former president of the Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee.
