Samuel Augusto Alves Corrêa was a Brazilian military officer born on March 30, 1917, in Cuiabá. He became a General Brigade on July 25, 1968, and later attained the rank of Army General in November 1977, serving as the Commander of the III Army in Porto Alegre from January 12, 1978, to January 16, 1979. He also held the position of Chief of the Army Staff from January 19 to June 15, 1979, and served as the Chief of the Armed Forces Staff under President João Figueiredo from June 18, 1979, to January 17, 1980.
