Sanae Hoshio, born May 21, 1964, is a Japanese novelist and poet. She has previously used the pen names Ayane Hagiiyama and Sanae Ooshita. Her real name is Sanae Azuma, and her maiden name is Nakajima. Hoshio is a part-time lecturer in the Faculty of Literature at Ferris University and is a member of the Japan Mystery Writers Association as well as the Club of Authentic Mystery Writers.
