Sanjeev Anant Galande is an eminent Indian cell biologist and epigeneticist, born in 1967. He serves as the former Chair of Biology and Dean of Research and Development at IISER Pune, where he also leads the Laboratory of Chromatin Biology and Epigenetics. A pioneer in the study of chromatin architecture and gene expression, he founded the Centre of Excellence in Epigenetics at IISER Pune. Galande is an elected fellow of several scientific academies and recipient of prestigious awards, including the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize in 2010 for his contributions to biological sciences.
