Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale was an Indian Sikh religious leader and the head of the Damdami Taksal organization. He became notable for his role during the operation 'Blue Star' on June 3, 1984, which was aimed at capturing the Golden Temple in Amritsar, occupied by him and his followers. Bhindranwale died during the operation, along with over 500 of his followers. His death was a significant event that led to the assassination of Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on October 31, 1984.
