Santiago B. Villafania (1971–2024) was a celebrated Filipino poet known for his works in Pangasinan and English. A graduate of the University of Pangasinan, he served as vice president of the Philippine branch of PEN International and was involved in cultural advocacy. His poetry, especially his collection 'Malagilion: Sonnets tan Villanelles', gained notable recognition. Villafania composed over 300 sonnets and 50 villanelles, contributing significantly to contemporary Pangasinan literature. He received the Asna Award for Arts and Culture in 2010, and passed away on February 26, 2023.
