After graduating, he successfully began his writing career, gaining recognition in Lima and later moving to Madrid to further his ambitions. He has authored several acclaimed novels, including 'Red April', 'The Shyness', and 'Very Close to Life'. His works have won numerous awards, including the prestigious Alfaguara Prize.
