Santigie Borbor Kanu, also known as Five-Five, is a former Sierra Leonean military personnel born in March 1965. He was a prominent member of the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC) during the Sierra Leone civil war, which overthrew the elected government in May 1997. Kanu served in the Sierra Leone Armed Forces from November 27, 1960, reaching the rank of Sergeant. He was convicted of war crimes and crimes against humanity in June 2006 and sentenced to 50 years in prison, later receiving an additional sentence for contempt of court in 2012.
