Sarah Stewart (August 16, 1905 - November 27, 1976) was an American-Mexican researcher known for her pioneering work in viral oncology. She was the first to demonstrate that cancer-causing viruses could spread from one animal to another. Together with Bernice Eddy, she contributed to the discovery of the first polyomavirus, which was named the Stewart-Eddy polyomavirus in their honor.
