Sari Nusseibeh, born on February 12, 1949, is a Palestinian philosopher and academic who served as the President of Al-Quds University from 1995 to 2014. Born in Damascus, Nusseibeh returned to Jerusalem with his family, where he completed his education, graduating in 1966. He holds philosophy degrees from the University of Oxford (1971) and Harvard University (1978). Known for his liberal philosophical perspective within an Islamic framework, he was the representative of the Palestinian National Authority in Jerusalem until December 2002 and was ranked among the world's most influential thinkers in 2008.
