Saribek Armenaki Manukyan was an Armenian Soviet literary scholar born on February 10, 1917, in Yerevan, in the Caucasus Viceroyalty of the Russian Empire. He earned his Doctorate in Philological Sciences in 1972 and was honored with the State Prize of the Armenian SSR in 1980 for his collective work on the history of modern Armenian literature. Manukyan was also a member of the Union of Soviet Writers from 1958 until his death on February 16, 2002, in Yerevan, Armenia.
