Born on March 27, 1940, he developed his skills through extensive travels across Southeast Asia from the 1960s. His works have been exhibited internationally, and he achieved a Guinness World Record for the longest batik painting in 2003. In addition to his artistic contributions, Sarkasi volunteered as an art teacher and engaged in acting. He passed away on October 14, 2021, leaving a legacy in both visual arts and community service.
