Scott Bradner is a prominent figure in Internet governance, having served as secretary to the Internet Society from 2003-2016 and as a trustee. He was part of the ARIN board and held senior roles in the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). Bradner was influential in the mid-1990s in discussions about creating an institution to succeed the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA). He advocated for Internet self-governance and raised critical questions about rule-making and funding in the Internet ecosystem. Until his retirement in July 2016, he served as University Technology Security Officer at Harvard University.
