Sebastià Sorribas i Roig was a Catalan writer known for his contributions to children's and youth literature. Born on November 19, 1928, in El Raval, Barcelona, he became famous for his character Pitus and set many of his stories in the neighborhood of Raval, where he grew up. He studied History and also worked on illustrating characters and events from Catalonia's past in his book collection 'Visions d'història de Catalunya'. Sorribas was a member of the Associació d'Escriptors en Llengua Catalana and received the Creu de Sant Jordi award in 2006. He passed away on December 6, 2007.
