Seiai Abe was a Japanese haiku poet born on November 7, 1914, in present-day Shibuya, Tokyo. He graduated from Takanawa Academy in 1933 and became involved in the haiku community, participating in numerous publications. Abe married Eiko Sumitani in 1940 and, after a brief military service, spent 33 years living in Okayama. He was a notable figure in contemporary haiku, known for his unique metaphors and imagery. He passed away on February 5, 1989, at the age of 74, leaving behind a legacy of distinctive poetic works.
