Seiji Kuroki (1915-1988) was a Japanese writer and poet born in Sukimura, Miyazaki Prefecture. He graduated from Miyazaki Normal School, becoming an elementary school teacher. In 1938, he co-founded the literary magazine 'Ryuzetsuran' with Yoshio Tomimatsu and others. During World War II, he moved to Shanghai and started 'Shanghai Literature'. He was a candidate for the Akutagawa Prize in 1943 for his work 'Cotton Record'. After the war, he worked at the Miyazaki Nichinichi Newspaper and later became its president.
