Seiroku Nomura (1916-1995) was a Japanese painter known for his work in traditional Japanese painting. Born in Yamanashi Prefecture, he studied at Kawabata School of Painting in Tokyo. After WWII, he began creating illustrations for novels and published essays and illustrations in Yamanashi Nichinichi Shimbun. He held solo exhibitions in Tokyo and received the Grand Prize at the First Franco-Japanese Contemporary Art Exhibition in 1975. His works are housed at the Yamanashi Prefectural Museum of Art, which featured a retrospective exhibition of his unique and unconventional style in 2000.
