Seishirō Etō is a Japanese politician born on April 29, 1941, in Kusu, Ōita Prefecture, Japan, or according to some accounts in Jeollanam-do, Korea. He is a member of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and serves as a representative in the Shūgiin, the lower house of Japan's National Diet, for the Ōita 2nd district. Etō held the position of Vice President of the Shūgiin from 2009 to 2012 and was Minister of Defense from 1995 to 1996. He is affiliated with the Abe faction within his party.
