Sena Jeter Naslund, born on June 28, 1942, is an accomplished American author known for her seven novels and two collections of short fiction. Her notable works include 'Ahab's Wife' and 'Four Spirits,' both recognized as New York Times Notable Books. In addition to writing, she serves as the Writer in Residence at the University of Louisville and directs the MFA in Writing program at Spalding University. Naslund was appointed Poet Laureate of Kentucky in 2005 by Governor Ernie Fletcher.
