Josef Franz Eibl, known as Sepp Eibl, is a Bavarian folk musician, composer, and music educator born on March 21, 1934. He studied lithography and later music at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Eibl worked as a journalist for the Münchner Merkur from 1959 to 1971. In 1979, he founded an association for the promotion of Bavarian folk music and established a folk music school, Sepp Eibl, in the same year. Eibl currently resides in Kreith near Tegernsee.
