Sergei Movsesian was an Armenian helminthologist, born on December 20, 1928, in Metsashen. He achieved a Candidate of Biological Sciences degree in 1962 and later became a Doctor of Biological Sciences in 1972. Movsesian was appointed as a professor in 1989 and became a corresponding member of the Armenian National Academy of Sciences in 1982, later achieving full academician status in 1990. His contributions to the field of helminthology, the study of parasitic worms, have been significant in understanding and combating such parasites.
