Sergei Alexandrovich Pomazun, born on June 3, 1981, in Kupino, Belgorod Oblast, is a Russian mass murderer known as the 'Belgorod Shooter.' On April 22, 2013, he shot and killed six people in central Belgorod and wounded a police officer during his arrest. He was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Belgorod Regional Court on August 23, 2013, and this sentence was upheld by the Supreme Court of Russia on November 20, 2013. On January 28, 2014, he was transferred to the 'Polar Owl' colony, the northernmost facility for life sentences in Russia.
