Sergey Aprikyan was an Armenian botanist and raw material scientist born on May 19, 1924, in Berdavan, Azerbaijan SSR. He earned his Doctorate in Biological Sciences in 1975 and became a professor in 1979. He was the brother of Gurgen Aprikyan and the father of Vardan Aprikyan. Aprikyan contributed significantly to his field and passed away on February 2, 2009, in Yerevan, Armenia.
