Sergey Alexandrovich Kashintsev was a Soviet serial killer born on August 9, 1940. Initially convicted of one murder in 1975, he was later released and went on to commit at least seven more killings between 1985 and 1987, confessing to 59 murders and three attempted murders, many of which remain unverified. In 1990, he was sentenced to death for his confirmed crimes and was executed in 1992.
