He held various significant military positions including troop commander of the Territorial Directorate 'North' and First Deputy Commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces. From 2015 to 2020, he served as the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In March 2020, he took on the role of Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine but resigned in December 2020 due to health issues.
