Serhiy Mikolayovych Popko, born on February 13, 1961, in Kyiv, is a Ukrainian military general who served as the commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces from 2016 to 2019. He had previously commanded the Ukrainian Anti-Terrorist Operation and graduated from the Kyiv Higher Combined Arms Command School. He was promoted to colonel general in 2017 and later served as Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Defense. Appointed Chief of the Kyiv City Military Administration in 2022, he has overseen the city during heightened military tensions due to Russian missile attacks.
