Serhiy Tkach was a Ukrainian serial killer active from 1984 to 2005, responsible for at least 36 murders of girls aged eight to eighteen around Dnipro. He claimed the true number of his victims was around 100. Tkach worked as a police investigator during his killings, leading to nine wrongful convictions, including one suicide of an accused. In 2005, he confessed to his crimes, expressed remorse, and requested the death penalty. After a year-long trial, he was sentenced to life imprisonment due to insufficient evidence for all his alleged murders.
