Sevra Baklacı was a Turkish news anchor who worked for Syria Television. After graduating from Gaziantep University with a degree in Social Studies Teaching, she traveled to Syria to learn Arabic. Following the unrest in Syria in 2010, she decided to stay and began working as a translator for SANA. In 2012, she became a news presenter at Syria Television. She was targeted by opposition forces in 2012 and later wrote a series of articles for Sol Newspaper, followed by a weekly column. She ran for local elections in Hatay in 2014 and published a book in 2015.
