Seymour Österwall was a Swedish jazz musician, bandleader, and composer, born on February 20, 1908, in Stockholm. He was proficient on the tenor saxophone and led the orchestra 'Seymours Astoria' in the mid-1930s, later known as Seymour Österwall's Orchestra until 1960. He served as conductor at Nalen from 1934 to 1956 and was the music director of Folkpark. His brother Arthur played double bass in his band until 1944, while his sister Irmgard was a singer in the early 1940s. Österwall passed away on August 3, 1981, in Stockholm.
