Shakil Adilzada was a Pakistani novelist, journalist, and the former editor of the multi-published digest Sub Rang. Born on February 1, 1938, in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, British India, his original name was Muhammad Shakil. Influenced by his father, who published an Urdu monthly magazine, Shakil took to journalism and literature early in life. In 1957, he moved to Karachi and contributed to various publications. He started his own magazine, Sub Rang, on February 1, 1970, known for its selection of excellent writings and attention to language accuracy.
