Shanta Kumar is an Indian politician born on September 12, 1934. He served as the 3rd Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and was a central minister in the Government of India. A member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Kumar was elected to the 9th Lok Sabha from the Kangra constituency in 1989 and was re-elected in 1998, 1999, and 2014. He has also authored several books.
