Farooqi frequently appears on Pakistani television during news broadcasts and talk shows. She has an MBA and a law degree and has worked in investment banking on Wall Street. She is the granddaughter of a former Pakistani finance minister and the niece of a close associate of ex-President Asif Ali Zardari. She married Hisham Riaz Shaikh on March 5, 2015.
