She was the national champion from 1985 to 1988 with her partner Paul Askham, and they represented Great Britain at the 1988 Winter Olympics, finishing 13th. Jones is married to Stephen Baker, a former pair skater, and they have a son, Jean-Luc, who is the 2014 World Junior ice dancing champion. The couple now works as coaches in Seattle, having coached their son during his earlier partnership.
