She captained the Sri Lankan women's cricket team and is notable for being the only Sri Lankan cricketer to achieve both 100 wickets and over 1000 runs. Siriwardene holds the record for the most wickets taken by a Sri Lankan in WT20I matches, with a total of 77 wickets. Her international cricket career spanned approximately 17 years, from 2003 to 2020.
