He was a member of the influential Al Taqa family and a founder of modern Arabic poetry, particularly free verse, alongside notable poets such as Badr Shakir al-Sayyab and Abd al-Wahhab al-Bayat. He was born on April 28, 1929, and excelled in his studies, earning a bachelor’s degree in Arabic literature in 1950. Taqa began writing poetry at a young age, with his works being published in local newspapers since the 1940s.
