Sherian Grace Cadoria, born on January 26, 1940, is a retired U.S. Army officer renowned for being the first African-American woman to attain general officer rank in the regular U.S. Army, achieving the rank of brigadier general in 1985. She held the position of the highest-ranking black woman in the military until her retirement in 1990. Cadoria graduated from Southern University and A&M College with a Bachelor's degree in Business Education and earned a Master's in Social Work from the University of Oklahoma. She initially served in the Women's Army Corps before transferring to the Military Police Corps.
